While enrolled at WVI, students will have the opportunity to learn about and engage in service within our local community. Lancaster County boasts a wide variety of ministries and charitable organizations who aim to spread the gospel as they serve those in need. During each trimester students will be directed and expected to serve in a number of capacities.
During the first semester, we will engage in ministry as a team as an extension of our leadership development coursework.. The goal in this semester is to expose students to the large variety of ministries within the county, acquaint students with the needs and missions of the ministries we visit, cultivate a heart of service, and work to strengthen teamwork and develop leadership skills as students work together towards a common goal.
Beginning at the start of the second semester, students will concentrate their efforts towards serving in their local church. This service will be overseen through one-on-one discipleship with a member of the leadership within that church. The student will work with their mentor and will be required to serve on a regular rotation at a ministry within the church. This service will be communicated to WVI for regular discussion and follow-up.
