In a talk given last year at Turning Point USA, Nick Ellis, Director of Christian Halls International, reminded us of an essential truth:

“We are eternal souls”

From this perspective, he defined education as:

“ the lifelong formation of your eternal soul, with deep consequences for this world and the next.”

Education, then, is about so much more than a job. It is about more than a piece of paper. It is about cultivating our affections toward the good, the true, and the beautiful. It is about building a solid Christian worldview and instilling a love for learning rooted in Scripture so that when students leave school, they are equipped to bear the fruit of the Gospel in every area of life.

Education always impacts culture. And your education will either help you shape culture for the Gospel or allow you to be shaped by a culture that is antithetical to it.

Across the country, families are rethinking what it means to prepare young adults for life, faith, and meaningful work. In a world where “going away to college” often disconnects students from church, family, and community, Christian Halls International (CHI) offers a refreshing alternative, one that the Worldview Institute is proud to partner with.

CHI revitalizes localism in education by creating small, Christ-centered learning communities modeled after the traditional Oxford tutorial system. Instead of sending students far from home, CHI helps them stay rooted in their churches while completing academic programs through partner universities. This approach nurtures faith, family, community, and local flourishing. CHI calls it a vision for:

“Local faith communities to govern the formation and flourishing of the next generation.”

At the Worldview Institute, we too believe there is much value in encouraging students to stay local, to worship in their local churches, to volunteer in organizations that directly impact their local community, and to feed into their local economy by working in local businesses. We are thrilled to be partnered with Christian Halls and blessed to offer up to 60 transferable college credits through our partnership with their organization.
